Research Affairs: Researcher's Alert for May 7, 2021 http://myllu.llu.edu/syncall/communityhome/?communityId=6088 en-us Thu, 02 May 2024 05:29:07 -0700 SyncAll RSS 1.0 6088:41756 <![CDATA[New NIH Other Support Guidelines - May 25]]> Research Affairs The NIH is requesting that all key personnel certify by signature that their “Other Support” document/report is correct. Currently, we submit Other Support at JIT and RPPR stages; however, since NIH is no longer requesting grant award information in the biosketch (section D is no longer valid), eventually we will need to include Other Support at the time of submission for all key personnel – this is not the current guidelines by the NIH but all signs appear to indicate that this is the direction in which the NIH is going and we need to be prepared.

Pre Award is responsible for Pending total amounts, Post Award is responsible for Awarded total amounts (RPPR Other Support has different requirements than JIT), Industrial Relations is responsible for Research collaborations/consulting agreements and the Clinical trials Center and the Cancer Center are responsible for the clinical trial agreements they manage.

There are many different sources to gather the Other Support information – we are trying desperately to automate as much as possible; however, this will require some time to develop.

We strongly encourage you to review the attached document and review the information in the link to prepare yourself for after May 25, 2021.

Remember, the new Other Support is certified and signed by all individual Principal Investigators and Key Personnel.
