Evidence-based practice in public education isn’t just an ideal; it’s mandated by law!  Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the No Child Left Behind Act require EBP.  Topics covered in this seminar are:  Qualifications in special education; Occupational Therapy’s role in special education; Examine barriers to special education research; Propose solutions to utilizing EBP in school districts; Explore strategies to influence EBP in school based settings.

The seminar will be held at the A-Level Amphitheater, Loma Linda University Medical Center, from 12-1pm.  Lunch is limited – available on a first come, first serve basis.

6088:34765 <![CDATA[NIH New Human Subjects System]]> Pre and Post Award NIH has developed a new Human Subjects System (HSS), which consolidates human subjects and clinical trial information in once place.  NIH recipients completing an RPPR (Research Progress Performance Report) will be prompted to access HSS to update inclusion enrollment reports. Brain Research Foundation, 2019 Scientific Innovations Award: LOI due June 22

“This funding mechanism is designed to support creative, exploratory, cutting edge research in well-established research laboratories, under the direction of established investigators. To be eligible, the nominee must be a full-time associate professor/full professor working in the area of neuroscience and brain function in health and disease. Current major NIH or other peer-reviewed funding is preferred but evidence of such funding in the past three years is essential. The grant period is for two years totaling $150,000. The support focus is for new research projects of the highest scientific merit.”
