Step-Logging Instructions

Visit http://www.WillHeMakeIt.org, Dr. Dyjack’s blog, to engage, ask questions, offer advice and support.

There are links in the sidebar to enter your steps each day and track the progress of your team and the total for everyone.

When you click the link, you’ll need to log in with your LLU username and password (for those who are not LLU students, faculty, or staff, you’ll need to use the e-mail address you gave us when you signed up—if this is your first time on the site, click the “Join myLLU” link toward the bottom and sign up using that same e-mail address).

Once at the page where you will enter your steps, choose only the days you wish to enter (most weeks only have blanks for five days—you do not need to enter seven days). After you enter the number for the first day, press Save. The next day you can enter the number for that day, and press Save, and so on.

If you discover you have made a mistake, simply change the value in the box that contains the error, and click Update.

After you click Save or Update, you should see a message confirming that it was saved. If you entered any commas or characters other than numbers 0 through 9, you will see an error message. Please correct the mistake and Save again.

For a limited time you will see a place at the top to guess the total number of steps everyone will take combined over the course of the challenge. Please enter your guess and press Send. There will be a prize for the person who guesses closest the grand total number of steps.

To see your totals, your team’s totals, and the total for all participants, go to the View Results page. There you can also see who is in which team and track your progress.

JC, you have activated the research lock. This prevents you from resetting the step counter etc. Now don’t try and say you walked 20,000 steps in a day! I did the same thing to mine accidentally, just found out how to reset it. If you don’t know the code you entered to lock (which if like me, was done accidentally) then open the battery compartment (where the little slit is on the side) and unscrew the holding screw and take out the battery for 10 sec. This will take away the “L” and let you reset the pedometer.

so what’s the L on the top left corner? is the L for Loser?
