Ongoing Research Support

1. DHHS Grant H50/CCH924359-01 – Regional Environmental Public Health Center. 9/1/04-8/31/07 40% effort. Dr. Dyjack is Principal Investigator on this grant, which aims to enhance the delivery of environmental health services in eight states located in the Southwest and Pacific Rim.

2. DHHS Cooperative Agreement Number U90/CCU92459. Center for Public Health Preparedness. 8/1/05-7/31-10 25% effort. Dr. Dyjack is Principal Investigator on this grant, which aims to enhance regional capacity to respond to catastrophic events. Major focus is on tribes, faith-based, and community based organizations.

3. HRSA Pacific Public Health Training Center. 20HP00001-06-00
9/1/00-8/31/10 20% effort. Dr. Dyjack, as Co-Investigator, provides training opportunities to the existing public health workforce in California, Utah, and Hawaii, with an emphasis on underserved areas.

4. NIH Loma Linda University Center for Health Disparities Research 1P20MD001632-01
10/1/05 – 8/31/10 5% effort. Dr. Dyjack is acting as liaison with the Riverside and San Bernardino county’s Departments of Public Health for the purposes of translating basic science into meaningful findings for the general public.

5. California Department of Health Services. Pandemic Emergency Non-Medical Containment Contract. (20% effort) Dr. Dyjack is principal investigator for this project which aims to provide training and capacity building for businesses, health departments, and vulnerable populations relating to pandemic disease.

Completed Research Support:

American Schools of Public Health (funding from CDC) – Academic Health Department. (2003-2004) $100,000. Dr. Dyjack was Principal Investigator on this grant, which provided students and faculty an opportunity to work on projects in collaboration with the San Bernardino County Department of Pubic Health.

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Describing Occupational Safety & Health Programs in Small Businesses. Requisition 01038F5D. Project 7072 (2002) $25,000. Dr. Dyjack was Principal Investigator on this contract, which assessed barriers and incentives for small businesses to implement health and safety management programs.

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Occupational Safety and Health Audit Reliability Pilot Project. (2001) $20,000. Dr. Dyjack, as Principal Investigator, assessed health and safety management system audit reliability.
