About the School of Medicine
Loma Linda University School of Medicine was first established in 1909 as the College of Medical Evangelists. As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, the School of Medicine fosters a distinctly Christian curriculum and environment, emphasizing a holistic approach to patient care.
For over a hundred years, our School of Medicine has educated its medical students in a supportive environment of excellence and caring. Our educational process has followed the best practices of medical education throughout its history while holding true to our original mission, to “continue the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus Christ to make man whole.”
